OROVERDE

OroVerde campaigns worldwide for the conservation of rain forests and shows how to protect them with joint forces. Its mission is based on the awareness of the outstanding role of tropical forests in the "System Earth". That is why OroVerde is working at all levels to ensure the comprehensive protection of these important ecosystems. Since its foundation as an independent, non-governmental organization more than 30 years ago, the wide array of activities includes:

• Participatory tropical forest conservation projects that collaborate with international partner organizations to develop solutions in which forest conservation and sustainable development go hand in hand
• Education and public relations work promotes the understanding of global interrelationships and shows various social actors ways to participate
• In dialogue with decision-makers from politics and business, OroVerde identifies grievances and responsibilities, points out possible solutions and works towards their implementation.

In doing so, OroVerde contributes to a social-ecological transformation that envisions a responsible, sustainable global community. Within the CCR project, OroVerde is responsible for the technical coordination of the EbA activities in all three countries and for providing technical implementation support to the partner organizations. To this end, Oro Verde contributes its many years of experience in the areas of reforestation, the establishment of protected areas for the conservation of biodiversity, eco-system-based adaptation, environmental education and the development of forest-friendly economic practices.
